The Linn County Sheriff's
Office makes the most significant investments in your training
and orientation during the first two years you are employed
as a Linn County Sheriff's Team member.
On your first day, you will begin an orientation
and training program which may include attending an academy,
and which may last in excess of six months. Following the
initial training, you will remain as a probationary employee.
Your performance, and continued training assessments being
made by your direct supervisor. The probationary period for
new employees is typically 18 months.

During the first two years, and for the rest
of your career, you will receive annual in-service training
in your operational discipline (half of a patrol in service
training class is pictured above). In addition, you will also
be afforded, by appointment or request, with additional opportunities
for your professional education.
During the first two years, you will also begin to form new
friendships with the other Linn County Sheriff's Team members.
Your success as a Linn County Sheriff's Team member is ultimately
up to you. But, while a lot will be expected of you during
the first two years, you will have 200 other teammates who
will work hard to provide you with every opportunity to succeed. |
