General Orders

The following are what is called "General Orders". You should take the time and practice memorizing them now to give you a head start when you get to the Academy.
 

"Sir/Ma'am,

  • MY FIRST GENERAL ORDER IS: I will ensure the safety and proper maintenance of all my personal and life saving equipment.

  • MY SECOND GENERAL ORDER IS: I will constantly strive to maintain a can-do attitude and to achieve the mission set forth before me.

  • MY THIRD GENERAL ORDER IS: I will at all times assist my fellow Post members in accomplishing our mission. Without me they will fail, without them I will fail.

  • MY FORTH GENERAL ORDER IS: I will faithfully carry out the lawful orders and directives given to me by those appointed over me to the best of my ability.

  • MY FIFTH GENERAL ORDER IS: Any time, any place, I will not quit, I cannot fail, Gung Ho, Gung Ho, Gung Ho!"

 
You will be issued a laminated General Orders Card (GOC). You are required to carry your GOC in your right hip pocket at all times, and present it to an Advisor upon request. You will memorize your General Orders and be expected to recite on or all of them from memory.
