SAR History
30+ Years of Dedicated Service
Oregon law requires that every Sheriff provide for the search and rescue missions in his county. Created out of the need to fulfill this requirement, the Linn County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Post has been in continuous operation since October 22, 1970. Working under the direct leadership of the Sheriff's Office, the youth of the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Post have dedicated countess hours of service to the citizens of Linn County. In turn, the Sheriff's Office has provided leadership, guidance and positive role models to the hundreds of youth that we are proud to have served with over the past 30 years.
