Opal Creek Wilderness Area Rescue (July, 2000) |

| In July, 2000, the Linn County SAR was called to assist Marion County in the search for a female hiker who had been lost in the Opal Creek Wilderness area for six days. She was finally spotted by a mounted posse member. Linn County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue, was the next on the scene, administered first aid and stabilized the victim who was suffering from severe dehydration. She was airlifted by the Oregon Army National Guard to a hospital in Salem when she was treated and released. |
