MISSION
STATEMENT |

The Linn County Sheriff’s
Office Firearms Team is dedicated and committed to instilling
in deputies the skills, confidence and competence needed to
protect themselves and the citizens of Linn County. Inherent
in such a task is the legal and moral responsibility for us
to instruct and encourage each deputy to attain the highest
degree of expertise in the use of firearms as possible. |

COMPOSITION |

Our team is made up of 12 Linn
County Deputy Sheriffs. These individuals are highly talented,
certified firearm instructors who possess thousands of hours
of combined firearms training and instruction. |
|

SERVICE WE
PROVIDE |
|
| |
Our team provides an
array of services to the employees of the Linn County Sheriff’s
Office. These services include monthly qualification with on
and off-duty handgun, shotgun, rifle and less lethal weaponry.
We provide annual in-service training which focuses on fundamentals
as well as reactionary and decision making scenarios. We also
conduct eight hours of instruction for our citizen’s academy
which is held twice a year. This instruction is combined classroom
and live fire exercise. |
