**Governor Brown’s two-week statewide “freeze” has rolled into the Governor’s “Risk and Protection Framework”. As of 12/02/2020, Linn County is in the “Extreme Risk” category. As such, Linn County Sheriff’s Office is forced to close all lobbies to the public, beginning 12/03/2020. However, Sheriff Yon and his Office are committed to continuing to deliver excellent service to the citizens of Linn County. Please review the information available on our website, or call our main number at 541-967-3950 to learn more. *** Because of the increased risk of viral transmission, you will need to make an appointment to get fingerprints (541-967-3907).***
The Civil Division located at the Courthouse on 300 SW fourth Ave., Albany OR 97321 provides fingerprinting services for the general public. These fingerprints are for teaching certificates, broker’s licenses, financial institutions, private security certification, passports, adoptions, and health care providers, just to name a few.
In addition to the general public, the division fingerprints, at no charge, county employees, other social service staff who fall under the mandates of the state such as mental health workers and the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program, and convicted offenders who do not live in the county and have been ordered by the court to submit to fingerprinting.
We fingerprint from 8:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. You do not need an appointment.
Please bring the entire fingerprint packet from your employer or agency. There are often papers included in the packets that our office must complete. If you fill out your cards before coming in, use black ink only and do not sign the cards until at our office. Cards completed in blue ink will be rejected by OSP or the FBI. You will also need current picture ID issued by a government or public agency.
Linn County residents: $20 for two cards.
Non-residents: $30 for two cards.
The address on your identification serves as your proof of residency. If you are new to our county and have not yet had a chance to change your ID, please bring other proof of residency such as a utility bill to get the reduced rate.
If your fingerprints were rejected by the Oregon State Police or the FBI, we will re-print you at no charge as long as we were the agency that took the original prints.
