Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports that his deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in the Mill City area.
An unidentified male arrived at Santiam Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg that he claimed happened somewhere in Mill City near the Circle K store. At 03:50 a.m. hospital staff notified the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies learned that the victim was dropped off by someone driving a late model dark blue Chevrolet Colorado pick-up. Detectives are looking for the driver of this vehicle as a potential witness.
Although the male victim was conscious and able to talk, he is not cooperating with the investigation and refuses to give his identity.
At this time there is no reason to think the public is in any danger.
