Linn County Undersheriff Paul Timm reports deputies investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 7:37pm. The crash occurred at the intersection of Seven Mile Lane and Tangent Drive, south of Albany.
Devon Olson, 23, of Tangent was driving a 2019 Toyota Tacoma pick-up east on Tangent Drive. Ralph Rose, 37, of Shedd was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 pick-up north on Seven Mile Lane. The investigation revealed that Olson failed to stop at the stop sign on Tangent Drive and Seven Mile Lane hitting Rose’s pick-up on the driver’s side.
Olson was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Rose was transported by Albany Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with serious injuries.
Linn County Deputies were assisted by the Albany Fire Department, Tangent Fire Department, Linn County Road Department, and the Multi-Agency Investigation Team.
The investigation is continuing.
