Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies are currently searching for a missing person, 38-year-old Jason Lee Key from Lebanon. Key was reported picking mushrooms near the Whitcomb Creek 700 line off of Quartzville Road, approximately 9.5 miles northeast of Hwy 20 in Sweet Home.

Yesterday at 6:30 P.M., Linn County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a Lebanon resident, 42-year-old Robert Dwayne Pollock. Pollock reported Key and he were picking mushrooms in the area of the Whitcomb Creek 700 line, off of Quartzville Road, which is a heavily wooded area.

Pollock reported last seeing Key in the area yesterday at approximately 4:00 P.M. Pollock said he and four other people have been searching for Key and have been unable to locate him. Pollock reported Key only has a flashlight and a lighter with him and Key does not have a cell phone.

After receiving the call, Linn County Deputies responded to the area and activated Linn County Search and Rescue. Yesterday At 8:00 P.M. Linn County Search and Rescue personnel responded with 10 Search and Rescue volunteers. Linn County Deputies and Linn County Search and Rescue are continuing the search.
