Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies responded to a domestic disturbance between Lynnette McConnel, 60, and her husband Steve McConnel, 63, today at their residence 41055 Shimanek Bridge Drive in Scio.
Lynnette was armed with a shotgun and confronted the deputies as they approached the scene. Deputies used exceptional restraint and were able to get Lynnette ultimately to put the shotgun away.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a verbal altercation between Lynette and Stephen, had escalated in the driveway of the residence. Lynnette armed herself with a shotgun and fired a shot into the vehicle Stephen was driving.
Lynnette McConnel was arrested and lodged at the Linn County Jail for Assault IV, Menacing, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Attempted Assault II.
