Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports at 11:51 a.m., today, a second note was found at the Harrisburg Elementary School that was connected from the note found yesterday at the nearby middle school. Deputies responded and determined there were no real threats to the schools or nearby community.

Through the investigation, deputies determined a 14-year- old Harrisburg Middle School student was responsible for yesterday’s bomb threat. The student was cooperative with the investigation and will be referred to the Linn County Juvenile Department for charges. Charges could include Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree.

Sheriff Riley would like to remind parents to talk with their kids and make sure they understand the seriousness of these kinds of “pranks”. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office takes any threat to the community seriously and will conduct a full investigation into these incidents.
