Linn County Undersheriff Jim Yon reports his deputies responded to a male found deceased in his vehicle on a logging road off of Brush Creek Road, south of Sweet Home. Yesterday at 2:16 p.m., the Linn County 9-1-1 Center received a call reporting a vehicle had appeared to have crashed and a deceased male was inside.
Deputies responded and confirmed there was a deceased male inside a 2012 Dodge pick-up. The investigation determined this was not a crash.
The male had no obvious injuries or trauma, indicating homicidal violence. However, the cause of death has not yet been determined. The male was identified as Joseph Baker, 37, of Salem, OR.
Linn County Detectives and the Medical Examiner assisted with the investigation. This investigation is continuing.
