Linn County Undersheriff Paul Timm reports on July 31, 2018 at 9:56 p.m., Linn County deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger car on Stayton-Scio Road near the intersection of Cole School Road, west of Stayton.
During the investigation, it was determined 21-year old Kevin Charles McFadden of Scio was traveling eastbound on Stayton-Scio Road on his 2015 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle. 61-year old, Cleo Lynn Matson of Stayton was traveling westbound in her 2014 Subaru Outback and was turning into her driveway when she collided with McFadden. McFadden was transported to Santiam Memorial Hospital and then flown by Life Flight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
It does not appear alcohol was a factor in the collision. The investigation is continuing and no one has been charged at this time.
