Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports today at 9:45 a.m., his deputies responded to a crash involving a car hitting a pedestrian on Old Salem Road, near Kathryn Street in Millersburg.
Deputies learned that Alexander Sullivan, 27, of Albany was walking south on the west side of Old Salem Road. The driver Juan Lopez-Palafox, 40, of Aumsville, was driving southbound in a 2006 Chevrolet pick-up, which was converted into a food truck. Lopez-Palafox stated Sullivan had stumbled into the roadway in front of his vehicle.
Sullivan was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and is being treated for life threatening injuries.
There is no indication that Lopez-Palafox was under the influence of intoxicants. Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash. Linn County deputies were assisted by the Albany Fire Department.
