We would like to congratulate Deputies Shane Potter and Zachary Lemmon on their graduation from Basic Police Class #453 at DPSST in Salem today!
These men spent the last 16 weeks training alongside other law enforcement officers learning much of what they will need to know to best serve the people of Linn County.
Deputies Lemmon and Potter played an important role in today’s ceremony as they were part of the Honor Guard presenting our Nations colors.
Deputy Potter was also chosen as Class Spokesman by his peers and was presented the Outstanding Health & Physical Fitness Award! Way to go Shane!
In addition, our very own Sheriff Michelle Duncan was honored to be the guest speaker for DPSST Basic Police Class #453. She shared her insight and experiences with the graduates and their families, based on her more than 28 years in the profession. We are delighted to be able to share with all of you her words to the graduates, and the presentation of awards and graduation certificates too. Watch the ceremony below, or at https://www.youtube.com/live/QzKEl1iFEc4?si=5I_wms0p0bi5DMOI&t=1429
Deputies Potter and Lemmon will now return to our office where their training will continue with their Field Training Officers before they hit the road on their own.
Congratulations to both and best of luck going forward!
