Sheriff Bruce Riley would like to remind the public of school zone speed limits and please slow down and be aware of pedestrians.
On the morning of September 14, 2016, Linn County Sheriff Deputies focused their patrols on various speed zones near several schools in Linn County. These schools included Hamilton Creek School in Lebanon, Central Linn Elementary in Halsey, Central Linn High School in Halsey, Harrisburg schools, Holley school, Mari Linn School in Lyons and Clover Ridge School in Albany.
Deputies stopped fifteen vehicles for various violations, ranging from seat belt violations to speed violations. Our goal is to educate the public and remind citizens of traffic safety within school zones. Sheriff Bruce Riley said his office will continue random traffic patrols in school zones throughout the year. Drivers are reminded to follow the posted speed zones as they are there for our children’s safety.
