WILEY CREEK FIRE EVACUATION LEVELS DOWNGRADED

Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan shares in the community’s thanks and praise to all fire crews working the Wiley Creek Fire. Their efforts have been amazing, and the containment lines around the Wiley Creek Fire have continued to be expanded. Fire Incident Command estimates that containment is reaching 30%.

Sheriff Duncan, in consultation with Fire Incident Commander Chad Calderwood, has ordered the existing LEVEL 2: BE SET Evacuation Area be DOWNGRADED to LEVEL 1: BE READY. All road systems within the remaining LEVEL 1 evacuation area are closed to everyone except residents living within the LEVEL 1 area, and emergency response vehicles.

The existing LEVEL 1: BE READY Evacuation Preparedness Area is hereby released, and no longer under an evacuation level warning.

The shelter for the Wiley Creek Fire located at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center is no longer sheltering any persons from the evacuation area, and is closed.  Green Peter Reservoir was opened back up to recreational boating traffic yesterday, as of 4:00 p.m.
